Machine is for point-to-point positioning and/or contour milling, drilling, tapping and boring operations In parts and assemblies of aluminum, steel and exotic materials. Preferably, all such operations that are required on a part are to be performed in one setup.

Purpose

This specification provides a standard for the design, performance requirements, inspection and procurement for combination machines numerically controlled, with work positioning, and tool selection. This is a minimum standard and is not intended to limit or inhibit advanced designs.
