This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of a feasibility study including ion exchange, membrane filtration, pellet softening, project area selection, number of softeners in target community, and willingness to consider pre-softened water. A 30 - 40 gpm pilot plant system is presented, along with a full-scale demonstration project including: approval process; process flow diagram; the chemistry; and, the system. Results are presented for: water quality data; consumer acceptance data; and, chloride level changes in wastewater. Includes table, figures.
