This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of zebra and quagga mussel sightings in the U.S., particularly in the southwest, and their impact on Lake Meade and the Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA). SNWA mitigation activities are presented and include: monitoring; risk assessment; chemical treatment; and, cleaning bar screens. SNWA is also involved with the Regional Quagga Mussel Team, the Quagga/Zebra mussel Research Symposium, congressional hearings, and, the Lake Mead Science Symposium. Includes tables, figures.
