This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of the importance of workforce development in the water industry, and how community colleges are a key resource. Two California community colleges that offer water technology programs are highlighted and include Cuyamaca College in El Cajon, CA and Palomar College in Escondido, CA. The programs offer associate degrees or certificates in the following areas: Water Treatment Plant Operations; Water Distribution Systems; Wastewater Treatment Operator; Wastewater Collection Systems; Cross-Connection Control; and, Water Resources Management (proposed at Cuyamaca). The 2-year joint venture between Palomar and Cuyamaca for Water/Wastewater Technology Programs received an Industry Driven Regional Collaborative Grant provided by the California Community Colleges Economic and Workforce Development Program.
