The five key elements of pipeline management are presented and include: strategy; review inventory; prioritize; implementation planning; and technology assessment. Various technologies for pipeline condition assessment are presented and include: Visual Inspection; Closed Circuit TV; Electromagnetics (Broad Band and Remote Field); Ultrasonic (G-Wave, B-Scan, Impact Echo); Remote Field Eddy Current/Transformer Coupling; Acoustic Emission Monitoring; Leak Detection; and, Magnetic Flux Leakage (Primarily Oil & Gas).
