This slide presentation outlines a project by the City of Corpus Christi to improve the performance of its water distribution system (WDS) by using hydraulic modeling. Operation challenges included: to evaluate WDS operation and develop calibration/verification data for EPS Model - prepared for "data collection" event; collected and analyzed preliminary supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) data; reset SCADA data collection settings to minimize data latching in tank level data; double checked flow meter calibrations; identified best locations for temporary pressure data loggers; conducted 9 day "data collection" event during "normal" WDS operation; performed detailed analysis of SCADA and logger data; and, computed diurnal demand curves for each pressure zone. Topics outlined include: identification of WDS operational challenges; new operational protocol development; positive effects of new protocol; and, demonstration and implementation of new protocol. Includes figures.
