The collective experience strongly suggests that the long-term success of any asset management program is directly dependant upon an organization's commitment to bringing three essential components in complete harmony. They are: Risk, Communication, and Policy. While the Triple Bottom Line (the economic, environmental and social considerations) addresses the "what" part of an asset management program, these three components (risk, communication, and policy) frame the "how" part. This paper discusses why these components need to be in concert, and what can happen if there are disconnects between the three.
