The City of Forman is located in the Southeastern corner of North Dakota, approximately 90 miles SSW of Fargo. The population of Forman is approximately 600 persons. The City currently uses two wells for its raw water supply. The wells tap into the Spiritwood aquifer. The City is permitted for a maximum annual withdrawal of 149.5 acre-feet at a maximum pumping rate of 150 gpm. The City's water treatment plant was a lime softening plant constructed in 1962. Other than routine maintenance, no updates had occurred since then. As a result, the plant was in dreadful shape. The City decided to have a water treatment plant study conducted to make recommendations for providing the City with potable water. This paper describes that process. Includes tables, figures.
