This slide presentation outlines information on a study to determine the impact of an integrated bioreactor process and an immersed membrane system on specific water quality parameters and membrane fouling of a water with a high humic acid content. The significance of the research included: characterizing the appropriate bioreactor and immersed membrane configuration under varying synthetic water conditions; increasing biostability of treated water by decreasing total organic carbon content; and, increasing fundamental understanding of fouling mechanisms on immersed membrane system.
