The objective of this study outlined by a slide presentation was to develop a battery of standard bio-analytical methods, combined with chemical analysis, to thoroughly examine the estrogenic or biological activity of ultraviolet (UV)/UV-advanced oxidation processes (AOP) treated water as indicators of effective treatment. Topics covered include: chemical and biological methods for the detection of endocrine disrupting compounds (EDCs); experimental design for BPA following UV and UV/H2O2 AOPs; comparison of removal efficiency between LP-and MP-UV lamp systems; and, larval toxicity of UV/AOP-treated solution. Includes figures.
