The objective of this powerpoint presentation was to determine the conditions when bacteria are present in bulk water or are present in biofilms. A pipe loop system was used that included a Pilot scale, operated in real drinking water environment, with three pipes and three corresponding tanks. Three experiments were performed: Experiment 1 (Well 28) - ten months, variable - residual chlorine concentration; Experiment 2 (Booster station 128) - three months, no chlorine present, variable: residence time; and, Experiment 3 (Booster station 128) - three months, chlorine present, variable - residence time. Water velocity was 1 ? 0.2 ft/s, water temperature was 17 ? 5ºC. Includes figures.
