BS 4047:1966

Classifies raw material into groups suitable for different purposes. Covers two systems: the cutting system (for timber to be resawn - grades by number and size of rectangular pieces of clean timber obtainable from a board) and the defects system (for timber to be used in the supplied grades by size and incidence of defects). The standard has been amended to take account of the withdrawal of BS 1860 and BS 3819.
