Replaces amendment 3 which was found to contain errors (any copies of amendment 3 should be destroyed). The amendment provides for lower design stresses for unverified timber. It recognises deficiencies in sole reliance on existing timber grading methods as a means of reliably establishing the characteristic strength and stiffness properties of sawn timber. The amendment also provides design stresses for new verified timber grades.
