The Meta of Data in Smart Buildings: What’s In It For You?

As building smart control systems increasingly rely on data-driven methods, the term “data-driven smart buildings” becomes more commonly adopted. The data collected for these systems rely on a larger context: what is measured, for which rooms/zones, for what purpose? This data is called “metadata,” and are available in several ways in a building operation system.
