Bolts procured to this specification are intended for use in tension applications which require a bolt with 260 KSI strength and high fatigue strength and not intended for use in application greater than 450 °F. These bolts should be used in conjunction with high strength nuts in accordance with NASM8984.

This specification covers external wrenching, tensile and shear bolts. The bolts shall be used in applications where temperatures are not greater than 450 °F.
