Specifies the devices for general use on all types of roads other than freeways and sets out the way in which these are applied at intersections, and between intersections at substandard horizontal and vertical curves, approaches to structures and obstructions, changes in pavement width, safety ramps and grades, water crossings and physical obstructions and hazards. Many illustrations of typical treatments are included. Devices and their application to speed, parking, pedestrian and railway crossing controls are the subject of other Standards in this series.
