AS 1915-1983

Prescribes requirements for battery operated vehicles (trucks and tractors) which incorporate a storage battery of the lead-acid type as the source of power. Includes requirements for the electrical components and those mechanical or hydraulic components which may be capable of producing arcs, sparks, or hot surfaces that will present a fire or explosion hazard in the presence of flammable gases or vapours. It also prescribes the tests to which certain components will be subjected to establish their suitability.
