TIA J-STD-110.01

The scope of this specification is to provide Commercial Mobile Service Providers (CMSPs) and Text Control Center (TCC) providers with a set of implementation guidelines for the Joint ATIS/TIA Native SMSMMS Text to 9- 1-1 Requirements and Architecture Specification Release 2 (J-STD-110) [Ref 1] approved in May 2015.

These implementation guidelines support processes and procedures within Public Safety entities [i.e., Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs)] as native SMS to 9-1-1 services are implemented by Public Safety. J-STD-110 also supports the text portion of MMS messages that should appear to Public Safety Telecommunicators (PSTs) in the same manner as the SMS to 9-1-1 messages.

Purpose

The purpose of these implementation guidelines is to address CMSP and TCC service provider deployment considerations of J-STD-110 [Ref 1]. This coordinated approach of these implementation guidelines brings together the appropriate resources to support the deployment of J-STD-110 [Ref 1] by CMSP and TCC service providers.
